On August 9. 1974, news agencies printed an iconic headline on their front page to acknowledge Richard Nixon's resignation as the President of the United States of America.

The then-President was about to be impeached following the ongoing Watergate Scandal, where his administration had been found abusing their power. Rather than facing the humiliation of being removed, Nixon made the decision to voluntarily leave The Oval Office.
